How to convert PNG to PDF

  1. Drop your PNG images onto the box above. JPG, WebP and AVIF can be mixed in too.
  2. Drag the thumbnails into the order you want the pages to appear.
  3. Choose a Page size (A4, Letter, or fit each page to its image), the orientation and the margin.
  4. Create the PDF and download it.

Ideal for screenshots and scans

PNG is the usual format for screenshots, exported diagrams and scans from many apps. Turning a set of them into one PDF makes them easy to send, print or attach to an application:

  • a series of screenshots documenting a bug, a booking or a conversation;
  • receipts and statements saved as images, combined for an expense claim;
  • pages of a hand-written or scanned document;
  • slides or diagrams exported from a design tool.

Lossless quality

PNG images are embedded into the PDF as they are, without converting them to JPG first. Text in screenshots stays sharp, and diagrams keep their clean lines. The PDF’s size is therefore close to the total size of your PNGs. If it is too big to send, run it through compress PDF or compress PDF to 1 MB afterwards.

Page size options

  • A4 or Letter places each image on a standard page, scaled to fit inside the margins and centred. This is best for anything that will be printed or submitted as a document.
  • Fit to image makes each page exactly the size of its image, so there are no borders. This suits screenshots and slides viewed on screen.
  • Orientation can be automatic, so wide images get landscape pages and tall ones portrait.

Transparent parts of a PNG appear over the white page.

Need to go the other way? PDF to PNG turns pages back into images. To add more pages to an existing document, create the PDF here and then use merge PDF.

Private by design

The PDF is assembled in your browser with pdf-lib. Your images are never uploaded, and the tool works offline after the first visit.

Frequently asked questions

Is the PNG quality kept in the PDF?

Yes. PNG images are embedded losslessly, so screenshots and text stay as sharp as the originals.

Can I combine PNG and JPG files in one PDF?

Yes. You can mix PNG, JPG, WebP and AVIF in the same document and drag them into any order.

What happens to transparent areas?

They are shown over the white page, so a logo with a transparent background appears on white in the PDF.

Are my files uploaded anywhere? How can I check?

No. The PNG to PDF converter runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly, so your files never leave your device. You can verify it: open your browser's DevTools (F12, or Cmd+Option+I on a Mac), switch to the Network tab, tick "Preserve log", clear the list and process a file. You will only see requests for this site's own static files, never one that carries your data. You can also turn on "Offline" in the Network tab (or disconnect from the internet) once the page has loaded, and the tool keeps working.

Does it work offline?

Yes. After your first visit a service worker saves the tool to your device, so it opens and works without a connection. Only advertising needs the internet; the processing never does.
