Why browser-based tools?

Most online converters upload your file to a server. These tools do not: the code is downloaded once and then your browser does the work. You can check this yourself by opening the Network tab in your browser's developer tools while you use any tool.

That matters for the documents people most often need to convert: passports and ID cards for applications, payslips and bank statements for a lease, contracts to sign, and photos of children. With PixSplit they are processed on your own computer or phone and never stored anywhere else, so there is nothing to leak and nothing to delete afterwards.
